This directory contains source and documentation for SDTS Public Domain 
Software. No warranties expressed or implied. This software is provided 
at no cost and with very limited technical support.

dlg3           - DLG-3 to SDTS (TVP) translator developed by USGS for  
                 internal use.  This software provides a
                 useful example of an SDTS encoder using FIPS123 library.

fips123        - FIPS 123 Function Library, a library of C-language functions
                 which read and write the ISO 8211 (FIPS 123) standard used
                 by SDTS.  Some general purpose utility programs are included.

masterdd       - Master Data Dictionary, software which creates SDTS master
                 data dictionary transfers from ASCII input files.  Uses the
                 FIPS 123 Function Library.

sdtsxx         - The new SDTS Application Development Library (C++).  
                  (Replaces the old FIPS123 library) 

tools          - ready to run executables of many utilities built with 
                   either fips123 or sdts++ library.
