  This directory contains SDTS-TVP Transfers of TIGER data. 
  These were created by the Census Bureau when they were 
  pursuing SDTS implementation.  These datasets may contain
  errors.  They are included here as sample data for 
  programmers.

  Note: These datasets are for information only. The Census
  Bureau was initially very active in TVP development; 
  however, presently they are not pursuing SDTS implementation,
  and will reconsider after the crunch to get the Year 2000
  census out is over. (unofficial statement)

  The datasets are available as tarred/zipped files as of 
  4-16-97---no change to content.
